E ddie Dowd has had a different life ...

 

      • brought personal insights to his achievements by coping with a spinal injury since 1966 that eventually put him into a wheelchair for twelve years. It wasn’t luck that got him out of it
      • his experience includes not just from his professional training as a priest and social worker but also from his experience as the Executive Officer of the Queensland Council of Social Services, Villa Director for the intellectually Handicapped and Director for the Woodridge Area Youth Support
      • he successfully operated his own grounds maintenance business with his wife for 10 years
      • he worked on the streets as a community worker and as a support worker in prisons for over 25 years
      • he is skilled in the areas of social, physical, mental and intellectual challenged
      • and especially with child abuse victims
      • and lots more

... and he brings this as well as his passion for social justice to his writing.
